2. Service Description
LitTranslate is an AI-powered translation platform for EPUB e-books. We use advanced AI models to translate your books while preserving context, character names, and literary style.
We offer three quality tiers:
Basic - Fast, readable translations
Optimal - Balanced quality and speed
Premium - Highest quality, closest to human translation
3. User Accounts
You may register using email/password or Google OAuth. You are responsible for:
Maintaining the security of your account credentials
All activity that occurs under your account
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
One account per person. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Content Rights and Responsibilities
You must have the legal right to translate any content you upload. This includes:
Content you created yourself
Public domain works
Content for which you have translation rights
Content allowed under fair use for personal purposes
Translations are for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not sell, distribute, or commercially exploit translated content.
You retain ownership of your original content. By using our service, you grant us a limited license to process your content solely for providing the translation service.
5. Prohibited Uses
You may not:
Upload content you do not have rights to translate
Use translations for commercial purposes
Upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content
Attempt to circumvent technical measures or access controls
Use automated tools to access the service excessively
Resell or redistribute the service
6. Payment and Refunds
Pricing is based on character count and selected quality tier. Cost estimates are provided before payment.
Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
Refund Policy:
No refunds once translation processing has begun (processing costs are incurred immediately)
If the service fails to deliver your translation due to technical issues on our end, we will review your case individually and may offer a refund or credit
7. AI Translation
Our translations are generated by advanced AI models. While we strive for high quality:
Translations are not guaranteed to be perfect
Quality may vary depending on content complexity, language pair, and source text quality
AI-generated translations should not be considered equivalent to professional human translation
We generate metadata (character names, terms, plot context) to improve translation consistency across your book.
8. Data Retention
Your uploaded files and translations are automatically deleted 60 days after project completion. Download your translated files before this period expires.
Account data is retained until you delete your account.
9. Intellectual Property
LitTranslate owns all rights to the platform, technology, and service.
You retain all rights to your original uploaded content. Rights to translated content remain subject to the original content's copyright terms.
10. Limitation of Liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
We are not liable for:
Translation accuracy or quality
Loss of data or content
Service interruptions
Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the specific translation in question.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your data will be removed according to our retention policy.
We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms, with or without notice.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or site notification.
Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with EU consumer protection regulations.
